Work Procedures of the By-products Branch

  1. Providing financial and administrative approvals for the establishment of molasses-based distillery and ethanol projects, as well as bagasse-based power generation projects of cooperative sugar factories.
  2. Processing approvals for the purchase of co-generation projects established on a BOOT (Build, Own, Operate, Transfer) basis by factories.
  3. Providing financial and administrative approvals for the expansion for by-product related projects.
  4. Promoting the manufacturing of other by-products related to the sugar industry.
  5. Processing the utilization certificate of disbursed loan amounts for sugar factories to obtain interest subsidies under the financial assistance scheme of the Department of Consumer Protection, Food and Civil Supplies, New Delhi, Government of India, for increasing ethanol production capacity and production under the Ethanol Blending Program.
  6. Submitting information/reports regarding sugar buffer stock and sugar exports to the Central Government.
  7. Coordinating with the Central Government regarding sugar sales and sugar release mechanisms.
  8. Collecting data on ethanol supply, electricity generated from co-generation projects, sugar stock held by factories, etc.
